Groups

We have 26 interest groups offering a wide range of activities. The groups are run by members who may offer a particular skill eg photography or someone who volunteers, for example, to schedule walks, organise a visit or hire a venue. The Groups Coordinator offers support and guidance for Group Leaders and is the contact point for those interested in joining a group, They also respond to ideas for new groups, to assess if feasible and help to set up new groups.

How do I join a group?
You need to be a member of Newent & District u3a to join a group. However, potential new members can trial a group (up to three times - perhaps a single group three times or three different groups once) before joining. A member from another u3a can access one of our groups or become an Associate Member to access more. If you are interested in trying or joining a group then contact our Groups Co-ordinator.

How much does it cost?
There is sometimes a small contribution to cover room hire, refreshments or travel costs. There may also be an entry cost for visits, eg gardens, NT properties or costs associated to pub or cafe visits. 

Third Age Trust
Overseeing the u3a UK movement is The Third Age Trust (TAT) who provide a source of guidance , advice and support for all u3as including subject support for Group Leaders.
